In a rare Monday addition to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility list, Microsoft has announced two new Xbox 360 games that you can play on its latest-generation console: Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, effectively completing the trilogy. Mass Effect was among the original titles to launch with the Backward Compatibility feature back in June, 2015.
Fortunately,All three games are available through EA Access, so if you want to play all of the trilogy and many more games get EA Access for only $30 per year.
”Mass Effect” is a science-fiction action and role-playing game (RPG) created by BioWare, the commercially and critically acclaimed RPG developer of “Jade Empire” and “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.” “Mass Effect” delivers an immersive, story-driven gameplay experience with stunning visual fidelity. As one of the first human beings to step onto the galactic stage, you face a grave threat that may destroy all of civilization.
Across the galaxy, entire human colonies are vanishing. As Commander Shepard, you will recruit an elite team of the galaxy’s most dangerous and skilled experts, and lead them on an assault into the most dangerous area of the galaxy – from which you might not return. Download new equipment and missions to continue your adventure even after the main story is complete. They say the mission is suicide. Prove them wrong.
Mass Effect 3 plunges you into an all-out galactic war to take Earth back from a nearly unstoppable foe – and how you fight that war is entirely up to you. With over 40+ perfect review scores, USA Today heralds Mass Effect 3 as “the first true blockbuster of the year.”
Typically, new games are added to Backward Compatibility on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so today is a bonus. Last week saw Blue Dragon added on Tuesday and Limbo on Thursday.
Of course, there are also this month’s Games with Gold, which offers four free games to Xbox Live Gold members. Super Dungeon Bros (Xbox One) is available until the end of the month and Monkey Island: SE (Xbox 360) is available until the 15th. The Escapists (Xbox One), which was among last month’s titles, is also available until November 15.
